Managing Director of Accordio appointed to the Department for Education’s new Digital T Level Panel
Justine Greening, the Secretary of State for Education, announced the T level panels this morning as part of a package of flagship reforms designed to ensure that young people and adults benefit from a high quality technical education system that meets the expectations of modern employers.
Rob will be part of a panel of experienced industry professionals that will help shape a new system of technical education in England.
The aim of the panel is to develop education in the digital sector, providing government and the Institute for Apprenticeships with advice on T level content to genuinely prepare individuals for skilled employment.
The appointment will see Rob attend regular monthly panel meetings, working with the Chair and other panel members to steer the knowledge, skills and behaviours required in the digital sector, including the content of classroom-based qualifications and broader requirements.
Commenting on his appointment, Rob said:
“I’m delighted to have been asked to join the panel of industry professionals undertaking this important work. The combination of skills shortages and the lack of a technical and practically focused equivalent to A-levels has held back the digital industries in the UK for too long. I’m hopeful that this work will address that shortcoming and benefit both young people and employers going forward.”
